Support

v1.0

This page explains how to get help with Doku, what to check before contacting support, and how to report bugs or suggest features.

Getting Help

Support for Doku runs through the Support tab on the Doku item page on ThemeForest. Open it for how to reach us, including a link to the author contact form. Responses typically arrive within one business day.

When you get in touch, please include:

  • Your WordPress and PHP versions (Tools > Site Health > Info)
  • Whether Doku Core is active (Plugins list)
  • A brief description of what you expected vs. what happened
  • Any error messages visible in the browser console (F12 → Console)

Before You Contact Support

Many common issues are resolved by working through this checklist:

  1. WordPress and PHP versions — Confirm WordPress 7.0+ and PHP 7.4+ are installed.
  2. Doku Core is active — Go to Plugins and verify the Doku Core plugin is installed and activated.
  3. Permalinks are flushed — Go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes. This fixes most /docs/ URL issues.
  4. Plugin conflict test — Temporarily deactivate all plugins except Doku Core, then test again. If the issue disappears, re-activate plugins one by one to identify the conflict.
  5. Theme conflict test — If you are using a child theme, switch to the parent Doku theme temporarily to rule out child theme CSS or code issues.
  6. Browser cache — Clear your browser cache or test in a private/incognito window.

Reporting Bugs

If you believe you have found a bug in Doku:

  1. Check whether the issue reproduces on a clean WordPress installation with only Doku and Doku Core active.
  2. Describe the exact steps to reproduce the problem.
  3. Note your WordPress version, PHP version, and active browser.
  4. Send the details through the Support tab on the ThemeForest item page.

For security vulnerabilities, contact us privately rather than posting publicly: use the author contact form linked from the Support tab, and include “Security” in your message subject.

Feature Requests

Feature requests and ideas are welcome through the Support tab on the ThemeForest item page. Describe your use case — requests backed by a clear real-world scenario are more likely to be considered for a future release.

Please note that not all requested features will be added. The Doku roadmap prioritizes features that benefit the broadest range of documentation use cases without adding complexity for users who don’t need them.
